A day in the life of moving

Updated: Dec 29, 2019

Moving = Chaos

Every day is unpredictable, you never know what you will get. That is something we've learned to embrace these last few weeks. Most days consist of 3 things, cleaning, "moving", and blogging. We've tried to plan out our days where we focus mainly on one of those three things so that we don't overwhelm ourselves. It can be hards to sort through all the tasks that need to be done, but we've found categorizing the days helps.

Moving days consist of anything to do with the move, whether it be packing, emptying out drawers and sorting though the contents, or making runs of donations to the store, we focus on anything that gets us closer to China. A typical "moving day" consists of lots of dejunking, we end up at the dump a lot..which Ellie HATES! She hates how it smells haha. But those days are probably the most satisfying days, because you can SEE the difference and that feels really good.

Blogging Days are the days we set aside to write blog posts, take and edit pictures and video, and prepare and schedule that content out. That way we don't have to spend time every day focusing on the blog and social media. The kids love this day because as a result of us being on our computers most of the day, they get extra screen time.

Cleaning Days are basically maintaining sanity days. Its not deep cleaning, i do that on moving days, but picking up and wiping down. Making it feel in order when things are utter chaos. I try to stagger those days to keep us as organized as possible, but lets be real, the day is usually controlling us, not the other way around, but we can deal that for just a few more days!!!
