Western food in Weifang, Shandong, China
Looking for Western food in Weifang? We've been there! It took months to figure out a place we could by chips and salsa or a good burger in Weifang. Our family LOVES food, so it was a brutal beginning when we wanted a little variety, but we eventually found it! Here's a list of the Western restaurants we found in Weifang! If you are looking for Western foods you can cook yourself in China, click here. In Weifang we have a few Western Chain restaurants. We have Pizza Hut, Subw

A Taste of Home
A recurring difficulty living in China, was food. We are a family of foodies, we love all types of foods which made the first couple weeks in China great, but after we had tried so many new Chinese dishes, we missed variety. Something we were always trying to do was recreate dishes from home, but it took a lot of tweaking. Not having the same ingredients or equipment were the 2 biggest set backs. I don't know if you've ever tried to cook pancakes on a wok over a hot plate...b

Out to Breakfast
October, 5th 2017 In Weifang, the sun always rose early, some days before 5 am! It made it nearly impossible to sleep past 6, which was a great habit we formed, because thats how the city ran! Everyone was up and out of the house early and many breakfast places were often closed by 8 or 8:30. It was also nice to get a little family time before classes. This particular Thursday morning we woke up early and hungry! By this time we had only been in Weifang a little over a month

Food Fails
This morning Drew and I didn't have classes, so we thought it could be fun to spend the morning together and make a yummy breakfast. We woke up, headed straight to the market to get some ingredients, and headed back home to start cooking. We bough fresh melon, fresh kiwi juice, and the ingredients for banana pancakes. I was especially excited about this idea, because I thought that banana pancakes would be something that would taste like home, that could be made here in China

A night in
Most days we spend as much time as we can out of the house. We go out to lunch, we go out to dinner, and in between, we look for new places to eat and parks to explore. We've run in to wetlands and amusement parks, and found all sorts of cool things, but sometimes you just need a day in. That was today. We decided we would get take out and watch a movie at home all together and just relax. I didn't realize how much I had missed TV, and how deprived I was for entertainment in
